After God ate millions of people when Columbus bumbled into the Americas, bad weather wiped away all our memories of the deeds of these peoples. But inspired by the mysteries of the Enigma Variations, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler showed the world that love is important, gay or straight or what will you, promising that jIHyIntaHvIS not qajegh.

Just as editing can make decent acting great, a soundtrack can frequently make the whole movie good (or it could sink it, if over-scored). Dracula, with Bela Lugosi, is made much better, I think, with Philip Glass’ modern score.

I don’t know Klingon, so I’ll spare you the puns, but now you know how to sing this stupidly popular ’80’s ballad.

Since it has become commonplace to wage actual wars against ideas, perhaps this isn’t so odd–which might make it worse. At any rate, society already tried to legislate away the gay, but we keep coming out.

This will never reach fruition, but it’s nice to dream that politicians could actually be held responsible.

Fun Home, a graphic novel, moved me when I read it just last week. I wonder how they adapted it.

Since we have no written examples to give us definitive answers, the pre-Columbian peoples of the Americas may remain an eternal mystery. But we keep digging.

I would indulge my straight side for Tina Fey, because she is practically everything great a person can be, male or female.
